Energy
The aura is the subtle energy field surrounding every living being. Described in many traditions, from Hindu prana to Chinese chi and Neoplatonic ether, it is said to be composed of several layers vibrating at different frequencies. Each layer corresponds to a dimension of being: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. The color and density of the aura reflects a person's inner state and can change with emotions, health and experiences.

Red indicates strong vital energy, powerful will and deep grounding in the physical world. Orange evokes creativity, enthusiasm and expansive social energy. Yellow speaks of sharp intellect, optimism and a communicative, light nature. Green (especially emerald) reflects healing, compassion and an open heart. Blue indicates an intuitive, calm and empathetic nature, often present in good communicators and therapists. Indigo or violet signals strong spirituality, developed intuition and a deep connection to the invisible. White or gold is associated with purity, high vibratory frequency and advanced spiritual wisdom.
The most accessible way to start: hold your hand against a neutral background (white wall, light backdrop), focus your gaze slightly beyond your fingers, not on them, but beyond. After a few seconds, some people perceive a subtle luminous halo. This perception develops with practice and a relaxed, unforced attention. To strengthen your aura: mindfulness practices, meditation, regular physical exercise, spending time in nature and limiting energetically draining interactions all contribute to making it more luminous and dense.
Can everyone see auras?
Some people have a natural sensitivity to perceiving energy fields. But most people can develop this perception with practice, less as literal vision than as a sensation or colored impression. Young children are often spontaneously sensitive to auras, and some artists or therapists report similar perceptions.
Can the aura be photographed?
Kirlian photography (electrophotography) captures the bioelectric emissions surrounding living organisms and produces colored images. Some present this as aura photography. Scientifically, it's a physical phenomenon related to moisture and conductivity. It can nonetheless be used as a symbolic support in a self-knowledge approach.
Can my aura be affected by other people?
Many sensitive people feel fatigue or discomfort after certain social interactions, sometimes described as an aura 'contamination' by heavy energy. Simple practices help maintain its integrity: setting clear boundaries, taking alone time to recharge, practicing conscious breathing after difficult interactions.
